"It's important for me to be heard, not just listened to, but really heard. James knows how to listen and to hear someone fully. He challenges me, yet I know this is what I need to truly grow. He challenges with his heart."
C.K. - Mother

About James Baye

pic I'd like to tell you about what motivates me. To do so, I'm going to change the context dramatically.

When we look around us life seems overall quite safe. A few dramas here and there, yet we're pretty sure we'll be back at home for dinner. The truth is, we never know when our last moments alive may be. Think of those who died on 9/11. Think of the Tsunami or Hurricane Katrina. In Canada, about 2500 people die each year from car accidents. Whether you die peacefully in your bed at the age of 95, or are killed in a hit-and-run by a stolen vehicle. In the end, we all die.

As a person, I attempt to hold this realization with me all the time. Whenever I do something, I ask myself, is this how I want to live my last moment, is this what I really want to be doing? Honestly asking myself this helps me make my choices with as much wisdom, love and openness as I am capable of in every single moment. Each of us has the opportunity to choose how we want to live, how we want to shape our lives. This is how I live.

I bring this way-of-being to my relationships, my personal endeavors and to my work. As your Integral Life Coach, I also bring this to you. I do not expect you to live like me, in fact, that's not my goal. My goal is to help you live Life the way you wish to live, achieving your desires, your goals, your dreams.

Education and training that have contributed to my coaching practice:

Psychology, spirituality and transformational development have been a primary focus of mine for over fifteen years. I have been influenced by the life and works of:
Arnold and Amy Mindell, Ken Wilber, David Deida, Chogyam Trungpa, Santana, Genpo Roshi, Sri Aurobindo, Diane Hamilton, Nelson Mandela, Carlos Castaneda, Faithless, Barbara and Larry Dossey, Ramana Maharashi, Jesus Christ and many others.

I am a board member of Drishti: Center for Integral Action. Based In Vancouver, BC, Drishti is an Integral hub for the Pacific North West, connecting to the Integral Institute and other groups working with Integral evolution. We provide insight, education, training and development in sustainable and transformational action based on the Integral ideology.

Twenty years as an emergency response and health care professional, has brought me many experiences and taught me many valuable lessons that influence my work as a coach. Trained as a lifeguard, paramedic and registered nurse I have worked and taught leadership courses in Canada and Australia.pic

Pilgrimages to Costa Rica, India, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Fiji and across North America have provided teachings, challenges and fine-tuning in my relationships with others, the world and myself. Activities that are important in my life as a means for growth and happiness include swimming, yoga, meditation, surfing, sexuality, weight-lifting, writing, contemplation, time with friends, movies, dancing and cooking good food.

I'm going to finish with this quote from David Deida:

It's never going to be over. Stop waiting for the good stuff. Right now, spend a minimum of one hour a day doing whatever you are waiting to do until your finances are more secure, or the children have grown and left home, or you have finished your obligations and feel free to do what you really want to do.

Don't wait any longer.

Don't believe in the myth of "one day when everything will be different." Do what you love to do, what you are waiting to do, what you've been born to do - now.
