CCoaching is becoming one of the fastest growing professions on the market. While there are handfuls of styles or “coaching niches”, outside of sports coaching the main types of coaching include:
• Life coach
• Personal coach
• Health coach
• Executive coach
• Business coach
• Leadership coach
• Relationship coach
• Sexual coach
• Spiritual coach
• Performance coach
• Creativity coach
• Success coach
Each one of these coaching styles has a various techniques, skills, ideologies, methodologies, and parameters they work within. There are many coach education programs and schools found across the world with varying degrees of training and reputation. The International Coach Federation (ICF) is the largest global governing and accreditation regulatory body for coaches.
While there are sometimes additional educational opportunities, along with many suggested adjunctive programs for enhancing your coaching capacity, sometimes it is necessary for you to work with another coach to improve your coaching practice. Being met and held within the fine-tuned practice of a fellow practitioner can be one of the most liberating and inspiring moments in your own personal practice. When you find yourself not taking your clients as far as you’d like; when you aren’t as creative, profitable, energized, or focused as you’d like; or when you want to deepen your own commitment to the art & science of coaching then it is time to connect with The Wayfinder.
Integral Coaching Canada’s (ICC) Integral Coaching® certification program is the most extensive coaching program within the ICF. ICC’s Integral Coaching® program has been said to be “the most sophisticated professional application of integral theory in any discipline”*, creating the “most complete and the most comprehensive”* coaching application available anywhere. James is an ICF ICC Certified Integral Coach®, and one of ICC’s top coaching instructors. He has been an ICC certification board member, and has introduced Integral Coaching® methodology to many audiences worldwide.
As Integral Coaching® is innately designed to hold the meta-views and meta-capacities of other coaching methodologies, James is highly skilled to work with coaches from any school, philosophy, or application. He will be able to help you move to the next level of your own coaching capacity, and delve further into the creative maturation of your own coaching style. As a coach who has clients in many cultures and domains James can take you towards any direction you wish to evolve into within your coaching practice. When you acknowledge that you need to step fuller into your chosen career as a coach, and are ready to evolve your commitment, creativity, and capacity within your practice, then contact The Wayfinder to cultivate your “What’s Next”.
Coaching is a dynamic profession. The fast-pace of 21st century life, coupled with the ever-changing experiences that most clients are involved in requires a coach to both hold solid ground and be sophisticatedly responsive. To continually provide significant and valuable coaching services coaches must discover how to hone their skills and their personalities, while maintaing the precision of the program they’ve designed for a client. A static and substantial coach will not last as long nor provide the depth that a more dynamic coach can deliver. Yet, being too dynamic without an ever-growing capacity to hold genuine ground will also not provide the greatest service to a client. Coaches need to develop the means to tune into, tighten, and tweak their own game.
Tuning, Tightening, and Tweaking provides that for you. In this session we review how your coaching process and style is currently showing up, and then we create the ways to fine-tune, tighten the reins, and calibrate your coaching practice with some personalized tweaking. You obviously are aware that something is not flowing as well as it could, therefore, this is a good time to tune, tighten, and tweak before you feel really washed up, burnt out, or unable to provide.
In this fast-paced session, I lead you to understand the situation you find yourself in and solutions that will shift it. I will make suggestions for you to take forward, yet no formal practices are designed in this session. These are often one-time stand alone sessions with no formal follow-up, with plenty of substance to get you moving again. Subsequent sessions every few months is a great way to stay in the evolving groove of your coaching practice.
When you desire a third-party review of your coaching praxis, when you realize it would be helpful to have a sympathetic and objective coaching colleague’s appraisal of your coaching approach, or simply want to discuss some refinements towards your coaching mastery, then contact me for some Tuning, Tightening, and Tweaking.

When working with a client over a long period of time it is easy to get stuck in a rut and become unsure where to go next. In working with a challenging client we can sometimes miss opportunities because of the intensity we feel in relation to the client. With some clients, try as we might, nothing seems to stick, there is just some reason that the program or practices we design simply aren’t clicking in. Over the course of your coaching career there will come a time when you just can’t seem to make it happen for a client. This can become a very frustrating time for a coach – which is why there is the Client Case Review.
Working together, we go over the client case program you have created. You fill me in on how you’ve assessed your client, what progress you have made and where you are stuck, the processes you’ve used, how you are measuring success, what the client is experiencing, as well as what you are experiencing. Through an objective integral analysis (also known as IMP) of your client’s case, I will tease out any gaps I see, incongruences, or missed moves. I’ll make some suggestions and see how they land with you. We’ll keep going through, over, and into your client’s case until we find the missing links you are looking for. The end result is that you feel both satisfied and ready to create the next steps for your client.
If you have more than one client case you’d like to review and we can fit it into the time period, then we’ll dive into the next one as well.
Having another coach on your team can be very satisfying and relieving. As more people enlist your services and the scope of your clients expands, having support, motivation, and camaraderie in your personal coaching process is both wise and beneficial. Know when to reach out – a Client Case Review is always worthwhile.
